With more than forty years of experience and knowledge, Paul Prosser creates fine jewellery that is timeless, stylish and unique. Paul started his apprenticeship in London’s famous Hatton Garden at the age of seventeen and after a few years learning his craft took the opportunity to complete his training in South Africa, the land of gold and diamonds. What was intended to be a three-year stay turned into sixteen years, first in Johannesburg and then in Cape Town, and left him with an enduring love for the people, culture and landscapes of southern Africa.
Returning to London in the 1990's, Paul has worked for himself ever since. His skill and craftsmanship sets him apart in the world of handmade jewellery and means that he works for some of the greatest names in the business.
For many years Paul was based at the workshop of Crown Jewellers Garrard in the heart of Mayfair, and Cartier, Asprey, Garrard, Chattila and Boodles all regularly commission work from him.
Paul has also developed a close partnership with Robinson Pelham, for whom he set the stunning acorn drop earrings worn by Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, at her wedding to Prince William in 2011. He has also set pieces for HM The Queen, HRH Prince Charles, the Earl and Countess of Wessex and clients from the worlds of entertainment and fashion.
He has set many pieces for the film industry including the famous ‘Coeur de la Mer’necklace worn by Kate Winslet in Titanic, the extraordinary piece worn by Hilary Swank in 'The Affair of the Necklace', and more recently some of the jewellery featured in the James Bond film 'Skyfall'.
In recent years Paul has moved into designing and making jewellery for private clients – his style is simple, elegant and, most importantly, versatile, so his pieces can be worn in many different ways. He loves most of all to work with diamonds and platinum but also works with other precious metals and stones. His work is highly sought after with most of his clients being referred to him by personal recommendation.
Working closely with his clients and ensuring that he stays within their budget, Paul delivers a high-quality, personalised, finished product that reflects his clients’ ideas and personality.
